Dr. Niloufar Danesh PERIODONTIST

Growing up Dr. Niloufar Danesh was influenced by her mother who was a periodontist and a professor. Witnessing the close relationship she had with her patients, and how she truly improved their quality of life inspired her to pursue a career in Periodontology. Shortly after graduating from dental school, Dr. Danesh pursued her passion for Community Health and Wellness, to study Public Health at Texas A&M University. While there, she researched factors affecting periodontal health and identified the close relationship between periodontal and systemic health. Her next endeavor was a residency in Periodontology and Dental Implants. Dr. Danesh completed her training and received her master’s degree and Certificate in Periodontology from Indiana University School of Dentistry where she graduated top of her class. Dr. Danesh is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, which is one of the highest recognitions of achievement awarded by the specialty.
Dr. Danesh has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her extensive research includes the importance of keratinized gingiva around dental implants, techniques for placement of implants in compromised and narrow ridges, and the use of laser in dentistry. She was the recipient of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry grant for her studies on the osseodensification techniques for implant placement. Dr. Danesh’s research on the osseodensification methods for implant placement has been selected for oral presentation at the prestigious Academy of Osseointegration annual meeting. For her interest in minimally invasive dentistry and regeneration techniques, she was selected as one of the winners of the “Residents in Regeneration Case Challenge”, among residents of the US Periodontology programs. During Periodontology and dental implant residency Dr. Danesh has been awarded the best clinical case report at the graduate level, the graduate educational and professional educational grant, and the Nobel BioCare scholarship.
Besides her love for periodontology and research, Dr. Danesh is passionate about giving back to the community. She has volunteered with several non-profit organizations such as “Give Kids a Smile”, “Hospice” and “Ronald McDonald House Charities”.
Dr. Danesh and her husband’s love for nature and outdoor activities brought them to the Pacific Northwest. During their free time, they enjoy hiking, biking, camping, and exploring new outdoor activities. They also enjoy trying new restaurants or cooking/baking new recipes at home.
